Hitbox and Frame Displayer Edit

Written by Mauve of #iamp (Mauve might wanna update his post and mention that it works for UNL too~)

The FrameDisplay tool allows you to view the SWR character's frames of animation and overlays visual hitbox data on top of the frames. With this tool you are able to view individual frames of animation, scroll through frames, and even auto-play animation loops. The tool also comes equipped with the ability to toggle the alpha channel, the box perimeters, the position-crosshairs, and the background gradient. You are also able to click and drag the viewpoint of the display.

The displayer will also show detailed information about the action that is currently displayed, including (but not limited to): damage, proration, limit increase, block type, CH frames, cancelable frames, graze frames, and invulnerability frames.

The Green boxes represent a hittable box. The Grey box represents A collision box (two character collision boxes won't overlap in-game). And the Red boxes represent the attack box (hitbox).

Hittable boxes and Attack boxes aren't "solid" and against an opponent they can pass through one another. Though obviously a red attack box will "hit" an opponent's green hittable box and inflict damage or block stun. The collision boxes for the characters are "solid" and two collision boxes can not overlap.

For details on how to control the switches and frames while using the tool, please read the framedisplay.txt that comes with the download package.

For now, you can download the tool here. Current version: 1.7 (last updated 08/15/2009).

Experimental/In development: FrameDisplay 2.1 (src). Supports multiple games. Last updated 10/23/2009.

Example animated GIF images that were created using the tool can be viewed in this photobucket.

  • Shift+1-9 is faster speeds.
